  • So refreshing to enjoy such professionalism in a casual and comfortable atmosphere. All the food we had was fabulous. I could eat their beet salad every day, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to go back so we can try the desserts!

  • The Local is our favorite restaurant in Charlottesville, and there are plenty of competitors. The differences with The Local: (1) personality and friendliness. The reception staff, bar tenders, wait staff and manager act like you are a welcome guest in their home; (2) Innovative menus and great kitchen work to meet your diet and tastes; (3) If you drink, this is a great place to enjoy a wide range of very good wines, both local to Charlottesville area and around the globe. We have tied many other dining establishments in the area, but The Local is our favorite.

  • What a great find during our recent visit to Charlottesville! Food was delicious: cream of crab soup - perfectly flavored with bits of crab as a highlight. We had pasta dishes - mushroom fettuccini and bolognese. Every bite was amazing. We were too full to add a dessert. Definitely will return here on future visits to the area.

  • Our family gathered at The Local for dinner on a Friday night, arriving from different cities to celebrate being together before we all went our separate ways for a busy fall. We hoped for a night to remember and the The Local did not disappoint. The food, from the empanada and veggie appetizers, to the short ribs, meatloaf and flourless chocolate cake deserts were fantastic and enhanced the joy of being together. Much of our Saturday was spent talking about how great our experience at The Local was the night before.
