Local designer and builder, Greg Jackson brings outside light and beauty into the interior of the building with the lovely windows and skylights. Some of the windows in the original part of the building are graced with the beautifully crafted stain glass art made by Vee Oswalds. Light fixtures adorn the walls and made by another local artisan, Charles Hall. His carefully placed fixtures provide indirect lighting that helps to provide the warmth and cozy atmosphere that has defined The Local restaurant.
Furniture maker EA Clore and Sons, located in Madison Virginia just off historic highway 231 made the chairs. And a little further north off of Seminole Trail is the internationally known but locally owned Mountain Lumber, specializing in reclaimed wood, where we sourced our flooring. The Heart Pine Company made our entry level bar and the bar stools and table tops were made by Dario Gimenez. Well known craftsman and Charlottesville resident Johnny St Ours constructed the front balcony.
